On Wednesdays the novitiate has a day of recollection, which usually draws us out of San Francisco. Dan, Br. Matthew Augustine's cousin, just happened to schedule us on a winery tour in Napa Valley. The Robert Sinskey Vineyard Winery let us into their caves with Dan as our tour (and taste!) guide.

The day was perfect. We were blessed with a blue and cloudless sky, the sun warmly smiling down, and a gentle breeze on the wind. Sadly, two of our brothers were not able to join us that day due to illness and family matters. The rest of us had a blast.

Here are all of us, including Dan, in the beautifully decorated main tasting room complete with a working kitchen! The seasonal employees of the vineyard actually live at the winery.
