On our return trip from St. Benedict's Lodge in McKenzie Bridge, we were hosted by a wonderful couple and were given a night's food and lodging. Their residence was spectacular and hidden away from the rest of town. It was featured in literature as a unique home of the Northwest. A huge, polished, stone tablet served as both altar and, following mass in the morning, as a breakfast table. Thank you Erle and Rosemary for your hospitality!

Getting to the villa was the first challenge. It snowed everyday while we were in Oregon and so was the case for the return trip back. We parked the friar engine a half mile down the hill because we did not have the traction necessary because of the combination of slush and snow on the road. Thankfully, Erle drove down to meet us and took us back to his home in two trips. Here is the second wave descending into their driveway. |

Mmm! Chicken cordon-bleu, walnut mashed potatoes, golden brown potato balls, and half-sliced beets were served for dinner. Then to settle our stomachs, out came the cocoa powdered chocolate truffles and almond paste desserts. French Chef Daniel and his wife prepared most of the night's dinner. |

Rosemary, one of our hosts, has taken up creating icons and they are simply amazing. Here is the Theotokos, the God Bearer, complete with votive candle. This is the icon that the brothers processed to during Compline. She, and the rest of the acryllic angels and saints throughout the house, truly are superb. |
